Nonna Bella's Pizzeria was a pleasant surprise for us. We haven't been terribly impressed with the Italian offerings in the area. But Nonna Bella's provided good taste, selection, service and value. We've been trying to visit places for lunch to review on the Blog, and Nonna Bella's is someplace we've never been.
They do have a full bar with cocktails, a variety of wine, and a decent selection of beers on tap. We just stuck with water today, but will likely return for their 4-6pm Happy Hour, offering $2 off draft beer and wine.
We shared the Toasted Ravioli as an appetizer. You get about 8 ravioli, topped with parmesan, and with your choice of sauce on the side. The flavor was very good.
For our entre, we shared an 8" pizza. This is a full 8" at least, and was just right to split for lunch. They also offer a 12" cauliflower crust and a 16". The Verona comes with grilled chicken, artichoke hearts, baby spinach served on a pistachio cream sauce. We had the hand-tossed crust, but they offer a thin crust as well. It was delicious.
For dessert, we were going to have the gelato, but it hadn't set up yet. On our server's recommendation, we went with the cannoli cookies. Cannoli filling between 2 large Oreo cookie wafers. I was a great way to top off our meal. We never new Oreo made the large sized wafers.
